Have you ever watched the old TechTv channel? It used to be ZDNet,now it's G4TV ( no comment ). This SU Group, will be in the style of Leo Laporte's Call For Help TV Show ( BTW, there are new episodes being made, but they are coming out of Canada: callforhelptv.com [callforhelptv.com] ).
I certainly don't make the claim of being a computer expert. I just think it would nice to have a friendly SU Group, where other people can ask for advice or help from fellow SU Members with their tech problems. It seems that every group I have ever joined leaves little to be desired, some of the members make a point of making you feel like your an idiot, and they usually end it by saying something like: "R.T.F.M." .
Hopefully, we can learn from each other and keep up with all the rapid changes in technology.

I'm just unlocking this thread for a moment for two purposes. One: to move it back to the top of the list, and two: I want to publicly applaud Jamie for his desire to bring out the best in folks. There are so many talented and intelligent people on SU and tapping into that base seems like such a logical extension for a place where the goal is to socially share good links and good vibes (or bad ones, if bad's your good). Three cheers for Jamie, and please bring any and all questions here and we'll all (at least MY part of 'we') do our best to be helpful and illustrative, not condescending or overbearing. One thing a wise person will readily acknowledge is that nobody can know everything about every subject, so we'll all need a little help now and again. *hugs to everyone* *spanks to those who want them*

Thanks for your comments, they are really appreciated.
colinsfreakindad.stumbleupon.com [colinsfreakindad.stumbleupon.com] a co-moderator of the group is one of the first SU members that welcomed me to SU, along with Yola, Edwthelongshanks, Maeb ( who I wish would come back ), and ChaosKitty ( she knows why ;-) ). To be honest, if it hadn't for them, I probably wouldn't have lingered here at SU very long, and would have moved on.
That's my goal, to share information & knowledge, and to not be "condescending or overbearing" while doing it.
Again, I must stress that I am not claiming to be an expert ( far from it ). My desire is for this group to be a community where we can all learn together along the way, stumbling down this path of technology.
Updates: Co-Moderators: colinsfreakindad.stumbleupon.com [colinsfreakindad.stumbleupon.com] , and: ferretsgames.stumbleupon.com [ferretsgames.stumbleupon.com] , and: konradc.stumbleupon.com [konradc.stumbleupon.com] , strangej.stumbleupon.com [strangej.stumbleupon.com]

Take care,
Jamie
P.S. I want to correct one thing I said in my first post in this thread:
"It seems that every group I have ever joined leaves little to be desired."
The good folks at:
longlivetechtv.com [longlivetechtv.com]

were not included in this comment. They have always treated me kindly, and decently. The only reason I created this group here at stumbleupon was because of my admiration for them, and I felt that stumbleupon needed a "friendly" group too. If you haven't joined longlivetechtv.com [longlivetechtv.com] I highly encourage you to do so. Also, go to: tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Long_Live_TechTV/ [tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/Long_Live_TechTV/]
